The initiative educates people about the harmful effects of excessive salt consumption and encourage them to reduce their daily intake, helping to prevent CKD, DM, BP, obesity and other illness.

2.Screening – One of the core pillars of the Foundation’s work is education. MKF believes that informed communities are better equipped to prevent and manage kidney diseases. Through various awareness campaigns, seminars, and educational materials, MKF disseminate knowledge on kidney health and related issues, empowering people to take control of their well-being .Now we want to touch the villages also so that we can make them aware about their health.

3.Subsidised Treatment (Tithi Scheme)- Dialysis is an expensive & a lifelong treatment. Average cost of dialysis in India is 30,000 a month. Majority of Indians cannot afford it and need a helping hand. Mumbai Kidney foundation (MKF) has been sharing the burden of CKD patients & helping them navigate their journey. At MKF we guide them about their disease and help them with subsidized dialysis treatment.

Some patients need peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) which is also expensive. MKF helps them by subsidizing the cost of CAPD also. We also help them to make AV fistula at subsidized rate.

This helps to reduce their overall cost burden.

India is facing an epidemic of Lifestyle Diseases such as Diabetes, Obesity, Blood Pressure which is killing 2/3 of Indians at an early age. It is also responsible for  epidemic of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in our country. 1 in 10 Indians suffer from CKD and die prematurely. The disease is silent and expensive to treat.
